
The Nigerian edition of the International Women’s Day 2026 Global Series by the African Women in Technology (AWIT), themed “Give to Gain: Balancing the Scale”, will take place on March 12, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at Nexford University Community Space, Lagos. It brings together leaders from technology, fintech, venture capital, media, healthcare, and policy to discuss how women can move from participation to leadership and ownership in the global digital economy.
AWIT is a global nonprofit advancing women’s leadership in technology and digital economies through mentorship, global convenings, and ecosystem partnerships. The event is part of a three-city global series across Nigeria, Kenya, and Washington, DC. The Lagos convening will feature panels and conversations designed to connect talent, capital, and influence. Highlights include:
- “The Future Is Female: AI, Data & Digital Power” – exploring women’s leadership in emerging technologies, with speakers including Ized Uanikhehi, Dr Taiwo Anjorin, Olufunmi Olaosun, and Zusi Inegbeniki.
- “Fintech, Financial Literacy & Women’s Economic Power” – led by Oluwatosin Olaseinde.
- “Capital, Startups & Scalable Innovation”, “Innovation Storytelling & Ecosystem Visibility”, and “Tech, Influence & Impact” panels featuring Toluwanimi Onakoya and Ayeni Oluwatobi Dorcas (MissTechy).
- Power Conversation: “Women Who Influence Systems” – exploring pathways into institutional leadership.
The event aims to strengthen networks of women leaders, foster collaboration between innovators and investors, provide young professionals with career pathways, and amplify the role of women in Africa’s digital economy.
