In social relations familiarity is said to breed contempt. But in politics it may breed corruption and stolen mandates.
Apparently with this in mind, the Nigeria Police Commission has approved the posting of 21 Commissioners of Police to head 21 of the 36 State Commands of the Nigeria Police Force in the run-up to the 2015 general elections.
Following the approval, Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba, has released the names of 21 Commissioners of Police to preside over State the Commands.
In a statement Force Public Relations Officer Emmanuel Ojukwu said IGP Suleiman Abba ordered the deployments to underscore his determination and drive to re-position the Nigeria Police Force for improved service delivery before and after the elections.
The 21 CPs and their state commands are: Usman Yakubu – Nasarawa; Isaac Gabriel Achong – Akwa Ibom; Paul Okafor – Kogi; Hyacinth Dagala – Benue; Idris Faruk Umar – Jigawa; Salihu Garba – Kwara; and A K Shodipo- Oyo.
Others are Abubakar Marafa – Osun; Clement Adoda – Borno; Kayode Aderanti – Lagos; Usman Baba – Delta; Dan Bature – Rivers; Karma Hosea Hassan – Anambra; and Titilayo Busari – Cross Rivers.
The rest are Valestine Ntomchukwu – Bayelsa; Fredrick Lakanu – Ekiti; Ademola Omole – Taraba; Olusola Emnauel – Niger; Adejoh Gabriel Adaji – Adamawa; Ishaku Barau – Kebbi; and Wilson Inalegwu – Acting CP FCT.
