The Easter weekend is a great time to spend with family and loved ones. You may want to go out and have fun but if you prefer staying indoors, here are a few activities you can do at home to spice up the moment with your family and loved ones:
1. Plan a picnic
Normally picnics take place at the park or an open field. However, this is an idea that you can bring the activity into your backyard. Start by preparing a traditional picnic like sandwiches, fruits, sweets and potato chips. Load everything into a basket. Don’t forget to dress up to take nice and wonderful pictures.
2. Plan a treasure hunt
Your children are going to love the treasure hunt. You can help them in the discovery of the little dime-store jewels and treasures after drawing a map with directions. You can also hide the map somewhere in the house and let your kids find it while making the bed or putting away toys.
3. Cook a special meal
You can cook or bake together. Involve your kids by asking them to pick one or two things in the kitchen. Make cooking and baking fun. As you bake pie crusts, biscuits and doughnuts, you get your children excited because they will have to squish the dough with their fingers. When you are done, sit back and enjoy the bite.
4. Watch old movies
Don’t rule out watching television. You may substitute the modern cartoons for classical movies on this occasion. Make sure you consider choosing movies that exhibit good moral lessons because of your children.
5. Do artworks
Take a walk round the house and have your children pick fallen leaves. Use the collected leaves on paper and rub the side of a crayon over it to create a silhouette. You can also paint the leaves and use them as homemade stamps.
