You may be scrolling through social media, watching TV or even meet them- a cute guy or lady and you can’t get your mind over them because you have ‘caught feelings’. Your crush occupies your thoughts and you find yourself fantasising about a life with them. Sometimes these feelings can be intense, you get obsessed with your crush, and the painful thing is this is not reciprocated. Here is how to get over your crush:
1. Tell them about your feelings
Rejection can be embarrassing. The last thing you want is for your crush not to reciprocate your feelings. However, you may never know unless you open up to know if they like you too. It is better you know your stance than keep on fantasising when you may never be together.
2. Get to know them
Sometimes, you need to talk to the person you have a crush on to figure out if there is nothing worth the admiration and hype. You might find that your crush is brash putting you off with their comments, presence or how they treat people.
3. Mute them
If you have your crush’s phone number or you follow them on social media, there is no way they won’t be up in your face. You would constantly have notifications about them. The best way to get over your crush is to just mute them.
4. Get busy
Don’t stoop so low to be stalking your crush. This is the time to get busy with your life goals. Constantly checking what your crush is doing is draining and would steal your time. Do yourself a favour and get a life outside stalking your crush.
5. Accept reality
Don’t make the mistake of substituting emotional availability for chemistry. If your crush has told you that they have zero feelings for you, move on with your life.
