4th Annual Music Meets Runway, ‘The African Edition’, has been scheduled to hold in December 2014 as announced by Le Reve Events. Music Meets Runway is an annual fashion and music show event, which features fashions by the new era of fashion being presented by live performances by popular music acts, including international artists. Over the years, Fashion and Music has created a style storm around the globe. The innovation, ‘Music Meets Runway’ is intended to provide a platform for talented designers, especially those who normally are excluded from the highly competitive world of fashion to showcase their unique art works while talented music artists perform on stage. It is the celebration of both music & fashion on one stage!
Last year’s Icon Edition was one of the most anticipated fashion & lifestyle events in Lagos. Showcasing on the night were four of the most outstanding designers in Nigeria today – Ituen Basi, Mai Atafo, Lanre Da Silver Ajayi & Deola Sagoe. The audience was thrilled by Performances by Tuface, D’banj, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay, Lola Rae and the legends like, Dr Victor Olaiya & Femi Kuti. International fashion designer and fashion Icon Angela Simmons hosted the event alongside Nigeria’s Ik Osakidowa. International supermodel Alek Wek also thrilled guests as she strutted down the MMR runway and presented Deola Sagoe with the Icon of The Icons Award.
The MMR brand has continued to raise the bar in the entertainment industry and it is no surprise that news of its’ success has spread to other African countries such as South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania just to name a few. As such, this year’s show has been appropriately themed ‘The African Edition’. This year, MMR Africa aims to spotlight excellence in arts and craftsmanship by celebrating the diversity of African artisans and showcasing various unique and authentic creations from trailblazers in the African society today. MMR 2014 promises to be an experience like no other, putting the best of African music and fashion together on one stage in Lagos, Nigeria.
