Our Man Crush Monday, Adedotun Tolulope Olukoya prides himself as an education entrepreneur. He is a teacher and the founder of Troupe.academy. The organisation was established based on Adedotun’s 10-year experience in one-on-one teaching, and it seeks to make learning easier and more interactive.
Right from childhood, Adetotun has always been a whizz-kid. He attended Nigeria’s Federal Government Academy for the gifted and talented, but due to what he describes as youthful exuberance, he deviated from intellectual pursuits during his time at university.
A turning point was when Adetotun became a Christian, and subsequently dedicated his life to help people achieve success through coaching. He won several scholarships and honours in the course of his education, including the undergraduate scholarships from Mobil, Chevron and WAPCo. He graduated with a first class undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Lagos. He further earned a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Essex in 2018, and worked as a part-time private tutor during his studies.
Adetotun has translated his experience and knowledge, especially of mathematics and personal finance, into impactful lessons for students. He has a knack for breaking down complex concepts, and providing students with insights to help them learn from his mistakes. His students often appreciate him for invigorating their love of learning.
Aside from being a coach, Adedotun has seven years of banking experience, with a specialisation in payment solutions. According to him, payment solutions have an underestimated role in economic growth. This has made him to continue to hone his expertise in the field. He is also an eToro popular investor (dotund), and shares his knowledge of the economy and its impact on personal finances with members. Being good at what he does, he has now achieved better-than-market results for two consecutive years, a feat attained by only 6% of active traders.
When he is not working, Adedotun relaxes with Afrobeats, movies, and basketball, and he describes himself as an unrepentant gym-rat. Pride Magazine Nigeria is super proud of Adetoun as an ‘edupreneur’, one who is using his platform to change lives.
