The last show for headline artistes, Mr Raw and Naeto C in the ongoing Star Music Trek concert took place last weekend, where it was obvious that thousands of fans at the Godwin Achebe Stadium, Onitsha wished for more. For the two artistes, it was a pulsating seven weeks across the country, in the exciting pan-Nigerian concert that officially commenced on March 29th in Nsukka, Enugu State.
The Onitsha leg of the concert which began at 4pm had fans trooping through the gates of the stadium as early as 12pm. Music fans, many coming from outside the city, were eager to watch the dazzling array of headline artistes including Wande Coal, Phyno, KCee, Naeto C and Mr Raw who had previously been advertised.
Onitsha proved to be an amazing haven of regional talents as a slew of young artistes stormed the Star Music Trek stage exhibiting the best of their gifts and clearly showing what makes the bustling city truly rock.
Naeto C’s energetic delivery of great hits such as 10/10, Tony Montana, Kini Big Deal among others, was a fitting end to his final performance on the show this year. At a brief stop-over at Radio Sapiente Onitsha earlier on, the popular rapper had promised to ‘shut down the city’ which he did, going by the ovation from the crowd.
The dynamic duo of Harrysong and KCee know exactly how to stir their teeming fans. Spotting an all-white outfits, the two artistes threw the audience into a frenzy as they performed their hit songs; Beta Pickin, Bulienu Jesus, Pull Over, Akuna Matata and others. Kcee, otherwise called the Limpopo King, as usual, rewarded his fans on stage, after a dance competition produced some skillful winners.
One Love was the delightful introduction to Mr Raw’s stunning last act on the Trek stage. The artistes, it must be said, went the extra mile to thrill his fans with songs which draw inspiration from the numerous challenges currently confronting the country, as well as his regular staples, Hip Hop Gyration, Angel and more.

Interestingly, a group of stylish dancers introduced Wande Coal to the stage, and with his signature fluid dance steps, he got guests dancing to his rhythms. Phyno continues his dominance as the King of the East consolidating his new album, No Guts No Glory. The lanky rapper wrapped up the night with a stunning finale eliciting tumultuous cheers from the eager audience who remained dancing long after the singer had bowed off the stage.
The show also witnessed guest appearances from Dammy Krane, Efa and Pucado who added spice to an already exceptional night of music and dance.
