Regina King loses son through suicide

Academy award-winning actress, Regina King has been thrown into mourning. The 50-year-old lost her 26-year-old son, Ian Alexander Jr. to the cruel hands of death from an apparent suicide.

Alexander Jr. was Regina King’s only child, and the two shared a close relationship. He often accompanied her on red carpet events. The actress confirming the news in a statement said;

“Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian.”

“He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you.”

Ian’s father is Regina King’s ex-husband, Ian Alexander Sr., a record producer. Alexander Jr. followed in his dad’s footsteps by taking on a career as a Disc Jockey. Despite his parents being super famous, the 26-year-old quietly battled depression.
