Out goes the sun
A fiery ball in the sky
Blazing and glowing.
I take a deep breath
It’s the start of a new day
Behold came sparkle.
A very handsome guy
Clothed in white
All decked out.
Muscular body shape
Brown eyes and dyed blond hair.
An appealing scent
Soft smile.
Athletic gait
He spoke to me
My heart skipped
Felt warm all over
We kicked off as friends
He was very attentive
Generosity was his second name
A tour on a yacht was a daily retreat.
He made me believe he was my gold mine.
We joined as one.
Things changed
The bankroll stopped
The truth spilled
It was not funny.
The show of wealth
False and empty
It was hard to adjust
I learned to love your lies
Became comfortable with it
When the truth starred me in the face
I refused to believe it.
I can’t stop thinking
I lived in a fool’s paradise
How happy I was in your delusion.
