Over time, there have been tons of women who have been termed as fashionable. But we also recognize that there are those select few who are remembered for their stylish fabulosity. These style icons range From Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt to the Jackie Kennedys and Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylors of the world.
To be fabulous without breaking a bank, you have to exhibit certain qualities and it’s not just about the outfit:
Be Yourself and Love Your body
Be yourself first and foremost. Don’t be fake or plastic. Be real, be yourself and appreciate your life. Love yourself, devote yourself telling yourself that you are a leader, be proud of who you are, never feel small, ignite and explore the world. Be comfortable in your own skin. It’s the most important lesson in the world.
Self Confidence
Style is inherent in all individuals, for you to be fabulous, you have to possess carriage, confidence, and of course decorum. Carriage to me is everything, You must have such good carriage that even the air will stop and shiver around you. Carriage and Poise is everything. Raise your head up, Put on your best face. Get used to it. Chest out. Speak Clearly. Command the crowd. Captivate with your skills. Know what you are saying. Be proud of yourself yet humble always.
Skin-Care
Our skins are our identity. You must feed your skin, you must take care of yourself, you must understand your skin, and know what is good for it. Pamper your body, enrich it by eating the right foods and take tons of water.
Positivity
With a positive nature, you can be fabulous, not only clothes make the man, the attitude matters too. Being stylish requires that you stay positive, disregard bad vibes and negativity. Keep your energy positive and you are on your way to being fabulous. A positive state of mind will encourage you to be motivated to dress well.
Power of the Underwear
My sister always says, “your underwear must be powerful, it must be one of the most expensive clothing that you own”. It must say a million things, must be so striking and attractive, even if it’s not expensive, wear it simple and stay classy.
Dress it Up
Kimora Lee Simons once said; “Always dress like you’re going to see your worst enemy” . Dressing is an art; what you adorn yourself with either upsets and uplifts your spirit. If you just throw on whatever you see, there’s a disconnect, your mood will flay and you might even have the worst day, but if you dress properly, coordinating yourself, merging colors in styles that fit you then you are on your way to being fabulous.
Create your own Style
Wear pieces that flatter you, wear your hair in styles that suit you, not just things that are trending, because not all things in vogue will suit you. You can play with colors, but don’t go too crazy with it; Note the colors that make you, experiment with new styles but most importantly understand what works for you.
Enjoy Yourself
Staying Stylish must be loved. Once seen as a task or homework it becomes hard to enjoy it. A stylish lady must enjoy dressing up; have the eye for detail, the flair to discover new things, the energy to combine your outfits and be proud to step out anywhere, show up stunning all the day. Do the impossible. Show up big.
It’s all in the Walk
Shoes! Walk the Walk! My mum always said, “you can judge a person by their shoes, belts and watches” my emphasis is on shoes. Your shoes don’t have to be expensive, but they must tell a story. Wear shoes that are comfortable for you, if you must wear heels and your feet are askew like mine(blush*blush) you must learn to walk in it, walk in style, practice on a straight line with books on your head; if you wear flats, enjoy yourself in them, take care of your shoes, take care of your feet and hands. Get a manicure and Pedicure, pamper yourself.
Smile
It makes you feel lighter and kicks years off your years. Laugh even when you’re sad, smile even when you are blue, Be Merry and don’t carry your problems and worries on your face and shoulders.
Remember every lady is a princess. It is up to you to let your royalty glow and let the star shine. We are all Stars and its differences in our styles that differentiate us from the next. Let the world stop and see the fabulous star in you.
