The last may not have been heard of the current crisis ongoing in Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN. Recall that a few days ago, a High Court in Lagos kicked out Ibinabo Fiberesima as the President of the Guild,a development that has generated serious unrest among members of the Guild in both camps.
Although Ibinabo has vowed to appeal the court judgment, the Board of Trustees of the Guild has come out to tell whoever cares to listen that it still recognises Ibinabo as President. They also went further to state during a press conference which held in Lagos yesterday that Emeka Ike who’s parading himself as the current president had since 2009 been expelled from the Guild and has no eligibility to govern the guild.
As things stand at the moment, sources in Emeka Ike’s camp informed Pride Magazine that Emeka Ike is currently perfecting plans for a possible takeover, which might occur anytime soon. In other to get his own side of the story, our correspondent contacted Emeka Ike for an exclusive interview and he declined, saying that his life had been in danger ever since the court judgment. “how am I sure you are not an assassin posing as a journalist”, those were his exact words.
Meanwhile we put a call through to Ibinabo and she didn’t pick up her call as the time of filing this report, but stay tuned for the turnout of events in real time.
