A debonair gentleman in the truest sense, Idris Elba has killed the suit game more times than we can count – and we weren’t unwilling to take up that challenge, however daunting. For a second, let’s ignore how he has been publicly breaking hearts by flaunting his relationship without remorse (just kidding, he and his fiancée, Sabrina Dhowre, are #couplegoals in every sense of the hashtag), and crown him the most stylish British actor.
The brilliant actor who was praised for playing the role of the South African revolutionist and legend, Nelson Mandela, in the movie, ‘The Long Walk to Freedom’, has taken advantage of the attention he gets from his fans, especially the ladies. And since ladies make up the majority of his fanbase, it is only right for him to tease their fancy. Moving on, we are we recalling the times we had a suit crush.
The black-tie ensemble
He may have been passed up for the James Bond role, but that doesn’t deter him from dressing the part. His black tie ensemble is reminiscent of the fictional character 007, and we dare say he does it better.
Plaid
Because of how heavy the fabric, plaid, is, sometimes it could weigh down a wearer with a small frame or just look frumpy on any frame, for that matter. Well, Idris makes it look easy-peasy and we aren’t mad about it.
Accessories
He isn’t one to pack on the blings or be an accessory junkie, but when he decides to go that route, it’s for the right cause – to bring his entire ensemble together. Like this grey ascot hat, he wore to compliment the entire look.
No shirt zone
Yes, the shirt, the tie, the hat, it all looks good, but sometimes it’s okay to take a break from all that and opt for something else – Idris is the right plug. This lightweight jumper/sweater he paired with the suit can still give James Bond a run for his money.
