The 21st-century music scene has evolved in such an unrecognizable way for those who grew up jamming to Victor Uwaifo’s Joromi or Fela’s Water No Get Enemy. Released in 1991, the song was from his debut album, About Tyme. The song quickly became the biggest hit of Blackky’s entire career.

Late Whitney Houston was the woman with the golden voice. She made love songs worthwhile for the listener with her vocal abilities. This song released in 1992, though borderline-schmaltzy with simple lyrics, was turned into one of the greatest love songs.

All My Life by K- Ci and Jojo
The African American R&B duo that made musical magic together makes the list for their beautiful lyrics and vocal prowess. This song released in 1997 had us memorising every word and miming it when we got the chance.

Endless Love by Luther Vandross ft Mariah Carey
This song, released in 1994, creates an atmosphere of romance and induces a ton of goosebumps just by listening to the splice of Mariah and Luther’s pitches.
