After the August break, it appears the rains are back with full force. This reminds me of games we played in the rain as children. Rainwater can be soothing and has been tagged as a blessing. A popular singer made reference to it as being useful in washing away tears and fears.
In some localities, toddlers can be seen have their baths in the rain. There was no shame, it was all for fun and enjoyment. If you live in a city like Lagos, you may not like the rains because it causes flooding. This is the effect of poor drainage and urban planning. Another big issue is that rain spoils events and plans. You would not want the rain to fall on the day you are hosting or going for a special event.
The rural areas are not spared, they are also prone to flooding particularly in riverine areas. This is a big human catastrophe that destroys properties, farmlands and even lives.
