Branama crooner, Kefee Obareke is dead. She died at about 4am on Friday in America, a source close to the family has confirmed.
Kefee, as she was fondly called, was admitted in a Las Vegas hospital, United States, after slipping from a plane stairs, resulting into coma.
The news heightened emotions in the entertainment industry, when fellow artistes were asking people to pray for her quick recovery.
Her husband, Teddy Esosa, who confirmed her state of health then, also asked that people should join him to pray for his wife’s recovery.
While some said the artiste opened her eyes and spoke before her demise, conflicting reports said she never came out of coma.
Another account of the story which said the late singer was pregnant and suffered pre-eclampsia has been debunked by her UK manager, Adeline Adelicious Adebayo, in an official statement.
“On behalf of the family, it is with a great sadness but grateful hearts, that we announce the passing to glory, due to lungs failure this morning, of our God’s mouth piece, chorus leader, daughter, wife, sister, friend Kefee Branama Queen … May her beautiful, gentle and precious soul rest in perfect peace. Amen! …In contrast to all earlier rumors and stories in circulation, I do state that Kefee wasn’t 6 months pregnant and neither did she have pre-eclampsia,” the statement reads.
