Afrobeats singer, Wizkid and Tems’ hit song, “Essence” has debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100. “Essence” debuted at No. 82 on the fiercely competitive Billboard’s Hot 100 list, on Monday, July 12, 2021, the official Billboard Charts Twitter page revealed.
“@wizkidayo’s “Essence,” featuring @temsbaby, debuts at No. 82 on this week’s #Hot100,” Billboard Charts wrote.
It also revealed that it is the first career entry on the chart for Tems. As for Wizkid, it is his third appearance on the charts, after “One Dance” hit No. 1 in 2016 and “Brown Skin Girl” peaked at number 76 in 2019.
“Essence” was released as the 11th track on “Made In Lagos”, the fourth studio album by Wizkid which was released in October last year. The 14-track project features global heavyweights like Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R, Ella Mai and Burna Boy.
