Self-described as goal-oriented, our woman crush this Wednesday Abosede Okeyemi is a sales strategist with almost two decades of experience. Abosede has held senior sales management roles in major companies such as Stanbic IBTC, Motorola, Nokia, Telenoetica, and DateCellular. She is currently the Director of Membership Relations for the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI).
Throughout her career, Abosede has demonstrated visionary leadership in fiercely competitive markets to achieve exceptional results. Her core areas of competence include high-impact sales presentations, revenue generation schemes, multi-million naira negotiations, new product launches, territory growth management, and strategic market positioning, among others. The numerous sales projects she has managed have brought in millions of naira in revenue. She credits this to her key strengths of turning around underperforming sales teams, setting high expectations, and establishing individual accountability.
At the LCCI, Abosede is leading the management of 26 sectoral groups comprising men and women at the top of their industries. With her knowledge and experience in strategy, management, and leadership, she is already adding value to the Chamber – membership is increasing and so is revenue. And this is fuelling Abosede’s drive to further entrench the Chamber as a leading organisation.
To still increase membership and revenue for LCCI, she is championing a Diaspora Group sector to support and spur the transfer of skills and investments in Nigeria which would help create and scale-up businesses in the country. She is also focused on developing the Young Business Group sector to position the Chamber as an incubation centre where young entrepreneurs are nurtured and helped to reach their full potential. This sector is also driving greater social entrepreneurship as a means to address the country’s economic challenges.
She has a BSc in Business Administration from Babcock University, as well as numerous professional certificates from well-known professional bodies and organisations. In her spare time, Abosede enjoys playing tennis and squash.
