Adaze Aguele-Kalu is today’s woman crush. She is a seasoned technocrat, chartered accountant, and investment banker, who for over twenty years has applied her technical acumen to identify and implement opportunities for sustainable growth and development in the public and private sectors.
Adaze has a passion for driving climate action alongside economic development in emerging markets within infrastructure, renewable energy and real estate development. She is well versed on the operations of capital markets; environmental, social and governance (ESG); and climate-aligned debt capital finance. She is also extremely adept at government and regulatory relations; stakeholder and asset management; policy evaluation and impact; and business strategy and development.
Her notable positions in government include Executive Director, Housing Finance, Accounts and Corporate Services at the Federal Housing Authority where she worked to provide affordable housing across the country; and Executive Director, Asset Management at the Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company where she oversaw the appropriate use of the assets of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). In the private sector, she was the Chief Marketing Officer and Deputy Head, Institutional Sales at the investment banking firm BGL Plc; and the Head of External Relations at FMDQ Holdings Plc where she was in charge of engagements with investors, government regulatory bodies, and other strategic partners for the seamless execution of financial market transactions.
She is a founding member of the Nigerian Advisory Committee of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); the former Chapter Chairperson of the Nigerian Institute of Management; a member of the Institute of Directors; and an MBA Ambassador at Imperial College Business School.
