“From Africa to the world” is a popular slogan used by those within the fashion industry. Most aren’t unaware of the impact Africa has within this sector on an international level and the inspiration – though mostly uncredited – gotten from our fashion culture and aesthetic. For a long time, our fashion industry was starved from appreciation within the confines of the continent, until young modern Africans from different parts began to wake up into the enlightenment that African fashion has the potential to burgeon into something remarkable (and of course, rake in considerable funds as a vital sector of the economy).
