More women are taking the lead in their industries, doing what only they can do best. Benedicta Oyiana, our Woman Crush Wednesday, is a perfect example. She is a seasoned HR leader with extensive experience spanning the FMCG, banking, and management consulting industries. She has also cut her teeth in business process review and development to provide business advisory services to SMEs.
Benedicta is currently the Country HR Manager Nigeria and Ghana at Baker Hughes, a GE company. She brings her human resources experience that infuses change management and organisational transformation including new system implementation, cultural transformation, organisational transformation, new process adoption, business closure/right-sizing, and employer branding to help the company get and keep the right employees.
An alumna of the prestigious Lagos Business School, Benedicta obtained an MBA in General Management in 2010. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Delta State University. She is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (MCIPM), an associate member of WIMBiZ, and is a lifetime member of Psi Chi in recognition of her outstanding scholastic achievements.
Benedicta uses her research background to equip industry leaders with better organisational diagnostics and investigation, data collection, and analytics relevant for better decision making. As a good team player, she pushes people to achieve their immediate to long-term priorities in an ever-changing industrial climate.
As a way of giving back to society, she mentors the youth and women, and is involved in several youth and gender developmental initiatives. Currently, she is undergoing research studies to help establish gender mainstreaming in male-dominated industries in Nigeria. She is also passionate about human motivation, personal reengineering, coaching and mentoring, and peak performance having identified these as key ingredients for social development.
Benedicta is not just a career professional, she is a wife and mother of three. Behind the astute and savvy HR leader, is an artistic side. She is also good at singing and songwriting.
