It is amazing to see women from all walks of life stand out in their various fields and endeavours. Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Christelle Zamoh is a perfect example. Born in Cameroon, Christelle grew up in Gabon and Cameroon. She holds a first degree in Economics and Social Administration from University of Nantes, France and a Master of Science in Shipping and International Logistics from University of Plymouth, UK.
Christelle started her professional career at Cargill in France as Trade Assistant in Sugar Division. At Cargill, she conducted a study on the transport of sugar: Container as an alternative transportation for sugar. Prior to this study, 100% of exports were in breakbulk. This display of competence and intelligence led to Cargill following her recommendations, resulting in exports being made in breakbulk and in containers.
Thereafter she returned to Cameroon where she first worked for the national shipping company, Cameroon Shipping Lines before joining Maersk Line, where she worked for 18 years. At Maersk, she held different positions in Cameroon, France and Ivory Coast. During her employment, she recorded huge feats that earned her three company awards for outstanding results. Some of her achievements included developing intra-Africa trade and contributing to the transportation of bananas in refrigerated containers out of Cameroon, as well as shaping the Customer Service Export Department to optimize customer experience and loyalty.
She currently lives in Abidjan, Ivory Coast working at MDE Business School as Senior Corporate Executive. For her, it has been a learning experience utilising skills gained over the past 20 years to support the General Manager. She develops and implements strategic projects and transformational changes within the organisation such as launching a club of Business Angels and driving digitalisation.
She has been able to maintain a work-life balance, effectively engaging in other personal development activities. Outside work, she is a mother, an enthusiastic Taekwendo practitioner and an intermediate sewist. She also loves to immerse herself in the world of African literature and movies.
Christelle is a role model to every woman as she has gone beyond average to produce outstanding results. We admire her for this and support her all the way to more remarkable feats.
