Our Woman Crush, Grace Orife, the CEO of Adelaar Energy, is a force to reckon with in the energy sector. She is an accomplished and highly skilled energy economist and strategist with two decades of experience in the oil and gas sector.
Grace started off in consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), before finding her niche at Shell Exploration and Production Company in Cameroon and subsequently Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in Nigeria. Working as a business analyst and economist for several years at Shell, she honed the skills necessary to succeed in the sector, and later proceeded to work at Addax Petroleum Development Company and Eroton Exploration and Production Company Limited taking on managerial roles.
Grace holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Buea in Cameroon, and an MBA from Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in strategic management at the International School of Management in France.
Being deliberate and passionate about how leadership can effect positive change, she affiliates herself with industry associations such as the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria’s Women in Energy group, and sits on the SPE Africa Advisory Council. She is equally on the board of the African Energy Chamber, being an integral member of both the Investment and Natural Gas committees. Her excellent track record speaks well of her personality and value in integrating business functions and guiding teams to achieve the best results.
