Our Woman Crush Wednesday is the passionate entrepreneur Mercy Kebone Ramojela. Mercy was born and bred in Botswana, left to complete a degree in Media and Marketing at Monash University in South Africa where she did part-time modelling, and is now is currently pursuing a second degree at the University of Botswana.
She recently launched the Mercy Murc Brand, which she calls a transformational brand. Speaking on how she derived her brand name, she said it comes from her name – Mercy, and a shortened form, Murc which her friends used while in school. The ultimate goal of her brand is to have various interlocking branches which transform people from the inside and out.
One of those branches is the Mercy Murc blog. Mercy’s passion for writing led her to launch the blog on Facebook three years ago. Mercy created the blog to inspire and motivate people daily, especially young girls and women to believe in themselves and keep moving, no matter what life throws at them. The blog grew rapidly to 57,000 followers.
Mercy also has a passion for fashion and believes that clothes give you confidence, especially when worn properly. In early 2021, she opened Mercy Murc Image Consultancy to help transform people on the outside and uses the platform to advise people on what to wear, especially those who don’t know where to start, as well as to offer personal shopping services. The Mercy Murc Image Consultancy page currently has over 100,000 followers from all over the world. Not slowing down, she recently launched a clothing line, with plans to name it Mercy Murc Couture. Initial product offerings from the line will include t-shirts, shorts, caps, and shirts.
The feedback from all her endeavours has been tremendous. She has had girls and women sending messages on the blog showing appreciation for helping them love and appreciate themselves. Mercy derives pleasure from contributing to another person’s healing. Her image consultancy is also providing the same effect. According to the astute entrepreneur, when you look good, you feel good, and the fact that she makes someone feel good about themselves through clothing gives her fulfillment.
The Mercy Murc Brand is not bent on profit-making but rather on changing people’s lives. According to the 33-year-old, her dream is to build a Mercy Murc empire with a foundation aimed at helping abused children. She wants to provide succour to people who come seeking comfort and healing. Mercy is thinking big of her brand and what it seeks to achieve. She also wants to have a Mercy Murc Modelling and pageantry school to motivate young girls about the importance of believing in and loving themselves. Mercy wants to catch them young so that they can see themselves as queens. Speaking on future aspirations, she also plans to write a relatable inspirational book for everyone.
Mercy advises entrepreneurs that money can be made from their passions. According to her, they should just pick one thing they are brilliant at and go for it. They should also let go of fear and start small. She added that entrepreneurs shouldn’t do business because that is what is trending. Mercy acknowledges that everything in life will face ups and downs, however, what works for her is getting up with every fall. From the foregoing, Mercy is undoubtedly a lady on a mission, one with big dreams, making impacts, and is unstoppable. This makes her more endearing as our Woman Crush Wednesday.
