Described by Forbes as “Africa’s Most Successful Woman”, our Woman Crush Wednesday, Mo Abudu, is the image of success most young Nigerian women aspire to be.
Recognised by Forbes Africa, in 2013, as the first African woman to own a Pan-Africa TV channel, her success with Ebony Life TV since its inception in 2006 is nothing short of impressive. The network spans across 49 countries across Africa as well as the UK and the Caribbean.
Through her network, Abudu has displayed creative excellence within the African movie industry. In her words to BBC, she described, “Africa has remained creatively silent forever, so there’s such an abundant treasure trove of stories that we have to share with the world”.
We could see this level of creativity displayed in The Wedding Party, the highest-grossing title of all time in Nollywood produced by Abudu.
She remains an inspiration to us
