Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Omawumi Ogbe is a sterling Nigerian PR guru. She is the Managing Partner at GLG Communications, a leading PR and reputation management firm that works with premier firms and talented individuals in various countries to take their brands to new and greater heights. She is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of GLAZIA, a digital lifestyle magazine that provides comprehensive content for its audience.
Omawumi earned a postgraduate degree in media and communications from Pan-Atlantic University, and stood out among her peers as the overall best graduating student. In the course of her work as a PR guru, she assists career professionals, entrepreneurs and organisations to relay their true brand identities. Omawumi has been acknowledged for her great work from far and near. She was named in the 2017 Charles O’Tudor Brands to Watch list alongside other leaders including banking and fintech CEOs such as Mitchell Elegbe, Ladi Balogun, and Tony Elumelu. She received the Coaching Icon Award in 2019; and made the 2022 Leading Ladies Africa’s 100 Most Inspiring Women in Nigeria list.
She has graced big platforms such as TEDx to share her wealth of experience and equally gives back by educating the younger generation through initiatives such as the Lagos Creative Enterprise Week where she would be a speaker in this year’s edition teaching about visibility for personal and corporate brands.
She got certified as a life coach, and is experienced in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), emotional intelligence and many more. The Life Coaches Association of Nigeria (LCAN) recently elected her as its president, and the first female in this position.
Despite her busy work schedule, Omawumi devotes time to volunteering for worthy causes close to her heart including the Lagos Kids Mini-Marathon, Akada Children’s Book Festival, and Azeez Amida Foundation where she serves as a member of the board. When work does not call, she also enjoys singing and dancing. Pride Magazine Nigeria admires Omawumi and could not have found a better Woman Crush Wednesday, one that is using her influence and platform as a changemaker.
