Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Omobolanle Adekoya is a big wig who has ticked all the boxes of an exemplary business leader. She is a Senior Partner in one of the world’s largest Professional Services businesses and one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, PricewaterhouseCoopers. As a member of PwC Africa’s Leadership team, she also serves as the Inclusion and Diversity Leader and also heads PwC’s Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) and Actuarial & Insurance Management Services (AIMS) practice for West Market.
Omobolanle has over two decades of professional services experience in supporting clients through complex financial accounting issues, fundraising, transformation, and financial advisory across industries like financial services, power, oil and gas, real estate, manufacturing and public sectors.
She has spearheaded various intercontinental projects in Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. She recorded other milestones with her involvement in the development of IFRS expertise in PwC Nigeria, the implementation of IFRS for various clients in the EMEA region and the development of several publications including: “Similarities and Differences between IFRS and Nigerian GAAP” and “Growing the Nigerian Technology Ecosystem through the Capital Market”.
She is regarded as the go-to business advisor leveraging the PwC global network. She sits on the working committee groups of several regulators including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).
Bolanle takes centre stage in conversations relating to gender balance and employment equity in the workplace. Her contributions recently earned her the appointment of PwC Africa leader for Inclusion and Diversity spanning East, West and South Market Areas. Based on her leadership capabilities, PwC has been awarded the best place to work and the best workplace for women in Nigeria.
With a bachelor’s degree (Hons.) in Business Economics from the University of Wales, Swansea, she is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland (ICAS) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) amongst other professional qualifications. When Omobolanle is not working, she spends her time with young people and women’s initiatives. She chairs several charitable organisations including the Bethesda Child support agency.
