It is often said that to whom much is given, much is expected. Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Taiwo ‘Dayo-Abatan, has proven this statement to be true. As she is a seasoned HR Specialist, Taiwo isn’t merely satisfied with being good and climbing her career ladder, she believes in giving back which she expertly does by fulfilling her passion which is to impact and improve professionals. Taiwo is the Founder and Host of “Taiwo’s Coffee Chat” a capacity building platform for HR professionals and holds this free attendance event monthly as well as “The HR Foundry” a learning platform for building and raising exceptional HR Professionals.
So, how did her journey of career excellence start?
An alumnus of The London Academy Business School, Taiwo attended the University of Ado-Ekiti where she studied Economics and graduated with a Second-Class Upper Degree. She then proceeded to The Federal University of Technology, Akure where she bagged an MBA majoring in Management.
Armed with the right educational background Taiwo began a career which has spanned over 17 years in Human Resource Management. Over the years, she has garnered knowledge and developed competencies in Performance Management, People and Cultural Transformation, Learning and Development, Manpower Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Organizational Development and Employee Relations and her career spans different sectors of the Nigerian Economy.
She is currently the Group Head, Human Resources of Mutual Benefits Assurance PLC. However, before she joined Mutual Benefits in 2017, Taiwo worked as Head, Human Resources of Total Health Trust Limited, a member of Liberty, SA. Beyond her day job, she is a member of several professional bodies among which are The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), The Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD) and also The Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators (IPMA).
We aren’t the only ones in awe of her work, in December 2019, Taiwo was recognized by SalesRury as one of the Top 50 Nigerian Influencers on LinkedIn and a nominee for their “Revenue Leadership Award” under the Premium Content Creator – Leadership category.
Her excellence is worth an applause and we celebrate her apparent growth and contribution to the professional scene.
