Everyone knows that starting a business and ensuring its sustainability is one of the most tasking endeavours in Nigeria. For this reason, most people prefer the safety net that 9-5 jobs offer. Nevertheless, more millennials are branching out into entrepreneurship and a major reason for this besides their thirst for exploring their creativity, are the success stories of those that have dived into the entrepreneurship head-on and survived. One of those people is our woman crush Wednesday, Tara Durotoye.
Tara is Africa’s leading beauty and makeup entrepreneur. She’s the founder and CEO of House of Tara International which has become a household name. She started Tara at the age of 20 in her living room, and now she has over 3,000 reps spread across Nigeria and 14 stores. Her continuing success story is proof that despite the challenges a budding entrepreneur or small business owner may face, success is still very much an option.
Thanks to Tara’s story, millennials can be further motivated to pursue their path.
