Speaking of ladies challenging gender inequality, Temitope Omotolani, our Woman Crush Wednesday, who is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Crowdyvest makes the list.
Temitope runs this impact-driven tech company that creates financial solutions for a community of individuals and organisations that are committed to long-term growth and financial freedom in alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hence, individuals and businesses working with Crowdyvest can have their all-in-one financial solutions to achieve short or long-term goals while facilitating impactful growth in line with the SDGs.
Temitope’s remarkability was recognised as one of the Top Female Founders in Africa having raised 2.5 million USD for the Nigerian agric-tech startup Farmcrowdy. She is passionate about youth involvement in agriculture. This prompted her to set up Farmcrowdy in 2016. As a Co-founder of Farmcrowdy, she brought over five years of online agricultural initiatives to Farmcrowdy to redefine the perception of a farmer in Nigeria. And as Chief Operations Officer of Farmcrowdy, she coordinated all farm operations across 14 states with over 25,000 farmers. Due to the efforts of Temitope and others passionate about the Nigerian agricultural space, farmers are now more respected and the younger generation is keen to join and further transform the space.
Her aptitude for business goes further back. She founded her first startup at 16, a makeup business that ran for 10 years called Gifted Hands. At age 19, she also founded a cleaning services company known as Fínífíní enterprises. In 2012, she built a product, Ojawara, which focused on buying and selling of agriculture produce from the rural areas and selling them in urban city of Lagos.
Temitope has a BSc in Economics from the University of Lagos; she is also an alumni of Lagos Business School (LBS) and FATE Foundation’s Aspiring Entrepreneurship Programme.
It is obvious she is an ardent believer in entrepreneurship as a means to solve economic problems and add value to humanity. She believes it is the most sustainable way to eradicate poverty in Africa.
We appreciate her entrepreneurial spirit and problem-solving abilities. Her drive to achieve the 17 SDGs is contagious and energising. This is a rare trait of exceptional ladies, that is why she is our Woman Crush.
