Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Zulumoke Oyibo has carved a niche for herself in the movie industry. She is a Nigerian film executive and producer. Innovative, creative and entrepreneurial are some words we use to describe her. Zulumoke is the co-founder of Inkblot Studios, a leading Nigerian film production company established in 2010.
She is the brain behind the films The Arbitration and The Wedding Party, which were both screened at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2016. The Wedding Party franchise is among the highest grossing Nollywood films in history.
Zulumoke takes pride in being a top-billing box office film producer. She is one of the most influential people in the Nigerian film industry, with over 20 award-winning film productions to her credit since her first feature in 2015. All of her films were among the top 10 upon theatrical release. Movies like Up North, The Set Up, Moms at War, and Quam’s Money are fans favourites, and add up to her theatrical grosses of over one billion naira as of 2020.
Zulumoke is currently producing on a Netflix-commissioned original series from Nigeria. Through a theatrical licensing deal between Inkblot Studios and Amazon, the first of its kind in Africa, she is also hard at work creating future blockbuster films.
As a way of giving back, she serves as a mentor to the younger generation of creatives through her engagement with organisations like like the British Council, Henley Business School and UNESCO among others. Pride Magazine Nigeria today celebrates the achievements of Zulumoke Oyibo and cheers her on to more outstanding feats.
