We begin the month of love by celebrating a lady whose unique enthusiasm for branding has evolved into becoming a formidable personal brand herself. We celebrate no other than Jumoke Adekunle who is our woman of the month. She is a Brand and Retail consultant that wants to make your ideas happen.
With over 16 years of experience in European and West African markets, both in the private and public sectors, the Nigerian born and UK raised female leader has her core talents rooted in strategic brand planning, integrated marketing, retail marketing and operations, influencer marketing, consumer research and insights.
She has led campaigns for global brands like Nike – implementing their first multimedia marketing campaign in Nigeria. Tommy Hilfiger – launching the brand with a flagship store including premium event and press management, The Homecoming festival, BBC 1xtra and Facebook, and is adept at building strong relationships, delivering that essential global-local combination.
Her passionate African advocacy propelled her to move back to Nigeria 8 years ago to work on emerging Brands in West Africa, further grounding her commitment to putting Nigeria firmly on the global business agenda.
Jumoke co-owns a Nigeria focused Instagram page called Dear Naija (@dear_naija) and also the CEO of a premium shisha delivery service called The Shisha Space (@theshishaspace). Jumoke’s selfless spirit and desire to mentor and nurture creative talent earned her a position on the advisory board of the Lagos Creative Enterprise Week. There she leads the branding team.
She is an avid traveller whose mission is to visit every country in Africa. You will never find her without a book in her hands and one of her mantras is health is wealth. As a global-local thinker, she stays close to popular culture through music, art, social media and influencers, she is a living breathing embodiment of the impossible is possible.
