A magistrate court sitting in Igarra, Akoko-Edo local government area of Edo state has convicted one Joseph Okoye and sentenced him to three years imprisonment with hard labour. Okoye,age 45 years bagged the conviction for sexually defiling a four year old girl in the area. The conviction of Okoye in Igarra was initiated by a non-governmental organization, BraveHeart Initiative for Youth & Women (BHI). Sporting and other commercial business activities were grounded in the early hours of yesterday as Coaches in the employment of the Edo Sports Council shutdown sporting activities at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. The protesting coaches who had converged in the early morning placed the main gate of the stadium under lock and key, chanting solidarity songs around bonfires. Fashion designer and nutritionist, Ayo Van Elma, releases SS’16 collection, and unsurprisingly, it is inspired by food. According to the creative director, the ‘fishbone’ collection was inspired by a late lunch that had the most interesting construction. The collection features Ankara prints, sheer fabric with flame-like details, overemphasized pockets, unorthodox skirts… Several pieces struck a chord with us, while some seemed undeserving of a second glance.
