Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of persecuting the union leaders in the State for demanding the payment of the workers’ salaries. The party insisted that persecuting union leaders for demanding for workers’ rights is a needless provocation that can rupture the existing peace in the state. The Chairman of the Osun State Association of Medical and Dental Officers, Dr. Isiaka Adekunle, has said the body will convince its members to suspend the ongoing strike, which is almost five months old. According to a statement made available on Saturday by the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Mr. Olatubosun Oyintiloye, Adekunle raised the hope of resumption during the meeting of the lawmakers with the leadership of the striking doctors. Doctors of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, under the auspices of the Association of Resident Doctors, LUTH-ARD Saturday, protested unpaid salaries and alleged discriminatory tax policy.
