Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Tannaz Bahnam (TB) is a force to be reckoned with. She is an entrepreneur, storyteller, and cultural curator who has become a global brand on Lagos’ vibrant scene. Born in Iran, she moved to London at the age of four, later moving to Washington, D.C. for high school before pursuing higher education in New York. And with a master’s degree in diplomatic studies from a university in Paris, her global experiences have helped shaped her ability to navigate diverse landscapes—both in business and culture.
Her career in sales and marketing took her across the world, working with esteemed organisations such as National Geographic and immersing herself in countries as diverse as Kazakhstan, Mexico, Serbia, Colombia, and Ecuador. Then came 2008—a pivotal year when an assignment led her to Lagos, Nigeria. What started as a temporary stay quickly transformed into a lifelong love affair with the city. Marrying a Lebanese expatriate who had already made Lagos home, Tannaz saw beyond the city’s boundless potential.
Realising that Lagos lacked a centralised guide to its hidden gems, she launched Lost in Lagos, a premier city guide that curates the best restaurants, spas, entertainment spots, and experiences. What began as a simple platform has since evolved into Lost in a City, now marking its 15th anniversary with expansions into Abuja and beyond.
But Tannaz didn’t stop there. Passionate about Nigeria’s culinary scene, she created The Kitchen Nigeria, a reality show where talented chefs battle it out in high-stakes challenges. With two successful seasons, the show has spotlighted Nigeria’s rich food culture while giving emerging chefs a platform to shine. Her entrepreneurial spirit also led to the birth of T-Kup Chai Latte, a brand that brings authentic, aromatic chai experiences to tea lovers.
With a life spanning multiple continents, Tannaz Bahnam continues to bridge worlds, whether through curated experiences, culinary adventures, or a perfect cup of chai. She is a Woman Crush in every sense of the word.
