Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has joined Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam on a two-year deal. Sparta Rotterdam confirmed this adding that the deal was subject to a medical.
“Sparta Rotterdam has strengthened itself, with the exception of the medical examination, with Maduka Okoye,” the Eredivisie club said on their website.
The twenty-year-old goalkeeper comes over from Fortuna Düsseldorf transfer-free and signs for two seasons, with an option for another two years.”
Excited with his latest development, the goalkeeper took to social media and wrote:
“Happy to sign for this great and traditional Club! Can’t wait to get started with the new chapter in my career. Proud to be an Spartan!”
The 20-year-old goalkeeper who was born to a Nigerian father and a German mother played second fiddle at Fortuna Dusseldorf who eventually ended up getting relegated from the Bundesliga in the 2019/2020 season. He began his career at the youth team of Bayer Leverkusen before joining Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Maduka Okoye is a Nigerian international and has only one cap for the Super Eagles.
