The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) in its quest to assist in making the Nation’s Capital Territory one of the most Industrialized Cities in the Sub-Saharan Africa, the President, Mr. Tony Ejinkeonye, led a delegation of the Chamber’s Executive Committee to a courtesy visit to the Hon. Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.
In his remark the President informed the Minister that the purpose of the delegation’s visit was to form partnership with the Ministry towards putting in place Technology Hub that will help to accelerate the development of commerce and industry utilizing the innovations available in the ministry.
Dr. Onu while responding to the delegation called on the organized private sector to help commercialize numerous research findings and innovations by its institutes. There are more than 1000 research findings and innovations on the shelves of Ministry of Science and Technology’s 17 research agencies across the country, according to the minister Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.
He noted particularly that the fall in oil revenue in the global market has created a great opportunity for Nigeria to now diversify its economy and that the ministry has a pivotal role to play in this regard. Dr Onu also stated that the Ministry is ready to welcome partnership that is aimed at promoting economic development of the Nation.
