My daughter, you have grown into such a beauty. No, sweetheart, I am not flattering you because you are daddy’s girl. It’s the truth; you really area beautiful young person. But, I want to caution you on a few things in this regard:
- Since you are good looking, don’t let it go to your head such that you become vain and obsessed with your looks.
- That said, I want you to also bear in mind this Igbo proverb: “Elewa mma ariri ya aruo.” Translated literally means “If you go on insulting your beauty you go ugly” The lesson from this is that, if you do not appreciate and take care of your beauty, you grow ugly. So my dear, do not take your good looks for granted and take time to always groom and look after yourself.
- Keep fit and eat sensibly so that you do not loose your shape and go into the endless cycle of being on one diet after another. Take all the necessary steps to stay healthy. This is the best diet and the only one that works.
- So, do your best to look good, as looking good makes you feel good. But do not let your looks define you. A person should be more than how they look.
- Note that you are at your most beautiful when you are being kind.
- To conclude I will quote the writer Sam Levenson: “The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!”
My dear daughter, may your heart always be joyful, may you stay forever young.
