The majority of the children of Late Zambian President Michael Sata have been handed an abomination; they were denied attendance at their own father’s funeral.
Though President Sata recognized all his children that survived him, said to number at least 20, in his will, the organizers of his funeral recognized only nine of them.
The 11 other children were sidelined from being part of the mourners and were also not recognized as part of his children.
His life history read at the occasion only indicated that Sata had nine children, an obvious untruth.
President Sata is survived by more than 20 children in total all of whom he proudly acknowledged while alive but some of the children who wanted to attend the burial were told to stay back and not cause confusion.
Only the children of Dr Kaseba, and President Sata’s first wife (first son Mulenga’s mother) were recognized. Stella Mutale Sata, who was almost sidelined, found her way through and didn’t listen to any intimidation she faced throughout the process.
President Sata was a proud father of all of his children, and included them all to benefit from his wealth as he signed his will a few months before he died. Among other children are the children he has with Local government PS Inutu Suba, one of which is a physically challenged child who has been kept by police IG Stella Libongani.
Sata fathered three children in Livingstone, two with a woman in Lusaka and also several in Kitwe.
In Kitwe, he also has children from Bana Michael, who is the mother to his son Michael Mwango Jr and others, to mention but a few.
