Activities in Nigeria the acclaimed giant of Africa has been stalled and brought to a stand still over the recent fuel scarcity menace which engulfed it in the last few weeks. Citizens of Nigeria were in this scarcity period thrown into serious suffering since the crisis. Worst still, Radio Stations in the Nations Commercial hub, Lagos issued notice of early shutdown over fuel scarcity on Monday. Also joining the early shutdown were banks, some TV stations, schools and some government parastatals.
Petrol though hardly available at filling stations was only sold by black marketers who hawk it by roadsides and sell for N500 per liter.
As at the time of filing this report, oil marketers had agreed to call off the strike and resume lifting oil, but no tangible difference is yet noticed. Commuters now pay through their nose as they leave for work every morning. Many Nigerians who spoke to Pride Magazine express sadness over the shutdown of the giant of Africa due to scarcity of fuel and they believe things could have been better had Nigeria been blessed with selfless leaders.
