‘Keeping up with the Kardashian‘ star, Kendall Jenner revealed she had “crazy panic attacks” before getting help.
She made this known during an interview on Good Morning America, where she said that she first had anxiety symptoms at a very young age:
“I was really, really young and I remember feeling like I couldn’t breathe and running to my mom and being like: ‘Mom, I feel like I can’t breathe. Something must be wrong,’”
Describing her predicament, she said that she was unable to breathe, saying that she told her mom about the symptom at the time:
“She took me to a bunch of doctors just to make sure it was all OK physically, and I was,” Kendall said. “No one ever told me that I had anxiety. Maybe like three years ago, four years ago, it came back completely full-on and I would have crazy panic attacks. Finally, I got the information that I needed about it.”
Though her situation got better, Kendall explained that her anxiety remerged as her modeling career flourished. “Maybe like three years ago, four years ago, it came back completely full-on and I would have crazy panic attacks,” she said. “Finally I kind of got the information that I needed about it.”
However, she has learned how to manage her predicament by rhythmic breathing. Kendall has continued to use her platform as a celebrity to speak about her experiences with anxiety.
Presently, she is joining forces with Kenneth Cole for the fashion designer’s Mental Health Coalition. They are encouraging Instagram users to share candid posts about how they are coping in lockdown in order to combat the stigma attached to mental illness.
