A 27-year-old Zambian man is being processed for court for allegedly having raped his own grandmother, aged about 90 in Sikamboko village in Zambia’s Southern Province.
He is in the custody of the police in Monze.
Southern Province police commissioner Mary Chikwanda confirmed the arrest of the identified man of Choba in Monze.
Chikwanda said the suspect allegedly raped his grandmother at her house on Thursday night.
“On January 29 this year, our officers in Monze received a report in which a woman of Sikahulu village in chief Mwaanza chiefdom, aged between 80 and 90, was raped by her 27-year-old grandson.
“The man got into the old woman’s room and [raped]her,” she said.
Chikwanda said the accused is still in police custody and would appear in court soon.
