Six finalists have emerged in the 3rd round of the Naija Street Champ music talent competition. The finalists emerged after a keen competition among the 24 winners that came out of the eight zonal auditions.
The lucky six include Sulaimon Idris (Dabreez) representing Surulere zone, Shanuolu Adesola (Sholz) representing Ipaja Zone, Rodney Brown Edemhanria (Rodney) representing Ikeja zone, Abimbola Olugbenga (Raptitude) representing Bariga/Akoka zone, Christian Olamide (Dakris) representing Agege/Ogba zone and Celestine Ogar (Big Daddy Africa) representing Festac zone.
The highly entertaining show took place last Saturday at the Ikeja Youth Sports Centre, attended by the producers of the project, ID Cabasa, D’Tunes and Terry G.
Project Manager, Oladehinde Fajana, during the pre-event media briefing, noted that selecting the 24 contestants that made it to the 2nd round was a herculean task, as each zone produced several potential music talents.
Fajana said the country is blessed with a lot of youth with talent waiting to be harnessed, while revealing that the six finalists that emerged from the 2nd round of the competition will go into the studio with the the producers, to compete for the N1 million prize money, plus a three-year recording deal.
He also stated that for the winner to emerge, the performance of the six finalists would be online every week for voting through the website, Facebook and Twitter. The finalists with the lowest votes will be eliminated until the last four contestants emerge.
Fajana said that the remaining four finalists will be groomed and mentored by the producers, and prepared for a concert during which the overall winner will emerge on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at a venue to be made public later.
