Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has demanded that people should show more support for Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.
He made this known during a breakfast chat organised by The 2baba Foundation in Lagos. The ‘African queen’ crooner said no contribution was small or much while noting that displaced persons needed more love and care.
He went on to share his experience at one of the IDP Camps. According to him, he could feel their pain and wished he could do more for them.
2baba is an ambassador for United Nations High Commission for Refugees, UNHCR. The award-winning singer urged well-meaning Nigerians to help put a smile on the faces of IDPs saying: “From my interaction with the displaced persons, I could see the pain in their eyes. You can see that they are not settled, and this really got to me. You can’t do enough for them, but we should not be discouraged. We should continue to give these displaced persons our support as much as we can.”
