Music
Autumn Leaves (off X album)
By Chris Brown ft. Kendrick Lamar
Though this song will not make it to Billboard’s Top 10 hottest singles, but Chris Brown was saying my very mind when he said, “I think people automatically assumed [that]with me and Kendrick Lamar, if we actually collaborated, it’s gonna be a club joint, but for me, I always like to change and switch the envelope… Even when I did Juelz Santana on ‘Run It,’ at that time, real hard-core [rap music]wasn’t really fusing with R&B like that. I try to change it up as much as possible. It’s what I love to do.” And he said the final words like, “Me and Kendrick on ‘Autumn Leaves,’ it’s more of a sit in your car and ride-to record. It’s a real laid-back record, but it’s also a substance record… It’s basically saying [that]you put in so much to get so little. Whether it be in relationships or just in life, you work hard for something all the time and get so little, but you still hold on, like the last leaf in autumn.”
On a Scale of 0 – 10, this song is a 7.5.
Toh Bad’s Chances at the CHOMVA
by Niyola (Director, Kemi Adetiba)
This young girl and EME’s first lady known to have been nominated with Asa, Kween, Lara George and more in 2008 for her “Call My Name” track is up again for another one this year, but this time, it’s another BIG one… Channel O’s Music Video Awards. And she’s nominated in the same category with our very own 2face Idibia. Left to me, I’ll hand the award over to her, the music video directed by Kemi Adetiba is the best interpretation of a song in that category. I have voted for her.
On a Scale of 0 – 10, that music video is definitely a 7!
Movie
The November Man
St. Pierce Brosnian
For an action movie (not a comedy) starring an A-list Hollywood actor like Pierce Brosnian to gross less than $20 million USD ($18,935, 824 USD) 13 days after it premiered is not just a disappointment, it is a HUGE one at that! It appears movie fans are getting tired of old actors coming from retirement to prove stunts. With Expendables 3’s disappointing gross, it’s becoming clear that movie lovers might gradually telling the old-timers to embrace retirement.
On a Scale of 0 – 10, this Movie is a 5.
