There was an uproar in Lagos yesterday when the Iyaloja General, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, yesterday ordered that all Lagos markets be shut down and that everyone must be present at Onikan Stadium for a rally organized in support of All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the state, Akinwummi Ambode.
Although in her statement declared that all members of the Lagos state chapter of the Association of Commodity Market Women and Men of Nigeria, have pledged their support for Ambode in a bid to sustain the growth and development that has been witnessed all over the state under the APC, but some of the traders claim otherwise, according to one of them who spoke to Pride Magazine, “majority of us don’t even support APC, talk more supporting Ambode” asked the reason why she does not support Ambode and she said, Fashola’s government did not encourage traders in the state; she said traders are being marginalised during Gov. Fashola’s tenure as governor.
