Today’s Woman Crush, Yinka Ogunsulire M.Phil. FRICS, is a real estate and infrastructure guru with almost three decades of experience in the industry. She is currently the MD and CEO of Orange Island Development Company.
Before her current role, Yinka was the CEO of Heirs Real Estate and Managing Director of ARM Properties, both real estate giants in Nigeria. She is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a member of the Institute of Directors. She has shown expertise and professionalism in the management of large-scale real estate and housing infrastructure projects, company and fund structures, private-public partnerships, and company mergers.
Yinka has successfully spearheaded a number of key projects, including Orange Island, Lagoon Districts, Lekki; Oluwole New Market, Lagos Island Lagos comprising 600 shops/stalls; Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country Estate, Lakowe, Lekki Peninsula, Lagos; and Adiva Plainfields, Awoyaya, Lekki Peninsula. She has been recognised for her career achievements, receiving the RICS Pride of the Profession award in 2018; the Prix d’Excellence Gold Award for Best Master Plan Development from the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) for her work on the Orange Island project; and in 2021 the Top African Real Estate CEO at the African Property Investment Awards.
Yinka’s abilities extend to the boardroom. She sits on the boards of the Federal Housing Authority; Anchorage Leisure Limited (owners of Radisson Blu Hotel Lagos); and British International Junior School. She is also a member of the Investment Committee of Africa Infra Plus Fund, which is focused on shoring up investments in the region’s infrastructure. As the co-founder of Building Women, a social initiative dedicated to empowering low-income and unemployed women by equipping them with construction-related skills, Yinka plays her part in advancing the place of women in society.
