Fashion usually goes with trends but style is more personal. So if you are trying to step up your style game, there are some things you need to drop and start implementing indirectly. These include:
1. You copy and buy every outfit/design you see and like. You should learn to say “No”. It is not everything thing you see on somebody or on sale that you must get. It is good to appreciate good things but you should be controlled by fashion trends, fashion bloggers and fashionistas. They can inspire you to be a better dresser but learn to cut your coat according to your size.
2. You have so many colours on you. Don’t have so much going on your outfit. One or two colours, probably complementing or contrasting each other is okay fashionwise. When you have so many colours on you, it defeats the essence of your dressing. People find it difficult to place your style and appearance.
3. You don’t tell yourself how much you love yourself and how beautiful you are. The truth is if you don’t who will. Start by appreciating yourself, your body and how you dress and it would flow inwards to outwards. have you not seen people who dress well but it does not align with their countenance because they don’t believe they are beautiful. Self love is the first step to becoming a woman of style.
4. You have not taken time to identify what works for you and makes you feel confident. There is room for experimentation in fashion, you don’t do it when you are going out but when indoors. That way you know what works for you and what does not. It is left for you to amplify what works for your body and builds your confidence.
5. You are constantly do trial and error. While fashion gives room for experimentation, that is not a pass to trial and error. Once you make a fashion blunder, it does not tell well of you. People first judge you based on how you appear before anything else. When dressing for success, stick to what works for you.
