1. The Government under the able leadership of her Excellency Joyce Banda has ensured that fuel queues are a thing of the past. Since coming to power 2 years ago, fuel queues have disappeared.
2. Access to vital foreign exchange for businesses has shut up significantly in the last two years.
3. Tobacco farmers are enjoying a production and price boost in the last two years as Tobacco buyers have returned to the Auction Floors.
4. Civil liberties and freedoms have been enshrined with the repeal of laws that infringe on citizens rights.
5. Power generation has increased from 281 megawatts to 352 megawatts. The Malawi Rural Electricity Programme
(MARER 7) has been rolled out which has seen electricity extended to 81 Trading Centers.
6. Production capacity has grown from 30% to 75%
7. Maize supply in abundance in ADMARC markets, allowing the generality of people to say bye-bye to madeya.
8. The Malawian currency the Kwacha has regained strength after two years of devaluation, with inflation on a downward trend.
9. The Joyce Band Government has zero tolerance for corruption. A Foreign forensic audit of government from 2005
– 2013 is on going.
10. Mrs. Joyce Band has affirmed that post the 2014 elections her government is committed to Integrated Rural Transformation as a central theme of her government’s focus.
11. President Joyce Banda has also set out what the priorities of her government will be post the 2014 elections.
Theses include, rural development, agriculture and food security, education, health, infrastructure development,
woman empowerment, youth and vocational training, creation of more jobs, decent work environment and sustainable livelihoods, reform of public service, Increase in the tempo of the fight against crime and corruption, and expansion of access to housing.
12. Joyce Banda is a focused, clear minded able and dynamic leader who has a well-defined, coherent and viable vision
for Malawi.
