Are you ready for ‘Detty December’ and all the expenses that come with it? We are already in the second week of December, and Christmas and the new year are fast approaching. Here are 3 things you can do to avoid SAPA( going broke/ the state of being impoverished):
1. Have a budget
Begin to draw a map of what you want and what you can afford. Tick off unnecessary things from your list. A spending budget is a compass to know if you can actually afford what you want and things you can do without because they are unnecessary.
2. Save
We know it is Detty December and there is a high tendency to spend on fun activities, however, you need to save part of your income. If you have to reduce your spending to minimal this month, then do so. This will help you avoid Sapa in the coming month
3. Don’t borrow money
Don’t give in to the temptation to borrow money. You might feel the pull to borrow money from friends or people you know to fit your December budget but you are going to make up for the borrowing come next year. Remember, the plan is to begin next year with a fresh start. It will be hard for you to completely enjoy the money that you borrowed from someone. You feel more at peace when you know that the money you’re spending on yourself is not borrowed money.
