Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Adeola Alli is dominating the healthcare space. She is the CEO and Founder of OneHealth, an online pharmacy and healthcare platform which distributes medicines and provides healthcare solutions for individuals and healthcare providers. She specifically targets the need for ready access to specialised medications.
Having a pharmaceutical licence from the United Kingdom and the United States of America, Adeola founded OneHealth in Nigeria. The need arose when she couldn’t get access to medications for her child within the country.
OneHealth leverages technology to provide the right medicines that are readily available to users. Through properly curated and analysed data, OneHealth partners with different health service providers to offer relevant health solutions to a large client base. To her credit, she has engaged with 1000 pharmacies across the 36 states of Nigeria to help over 8000 people gain access to pharmacare.
Adeola has over 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical and business practice. She obtained a Master of Pharmacy from the University of Manchester and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa (IE) Business School. She is also a graduate of Business/Managerial Economics at Harvard Business School. Her strong work ethic and skills was evident while serving in various positions at Well Pharmacy in the UK and Concord Pharmacy and CVS Health in the US.
The value of OneHealth is increasing being recognised. It was part of Nigeria’s First Digital Startup Accelerator Program hosted by Forbes and powered by the Global Startup Ecosystem 2020. The same year, Adeola was a Startup Lab Finalist at the Global Health Summit. She was recently recognised by Google for Startups Accelerator Africa for a job well done, and was also awarded Google for Startups Black Founders Fund. Her innovative healthcare brand, OneHealth was selected for funding by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and has participated in a Microsoft Accelerator programme. Adeola has been a guest speaker at the Africa Digital Health Summit and Ehingbeti Lagos Economic Summit.
